Memory & Company offers world-class accommodation and Dementia Care for those living with memory loss. Our programs, tailored to the needs and goals of each individual, range from dementia day programs to open-ended, short-term, and long-term stays.

What’s Included at the Markham Club?

Our Memory Care at the Markham Club provides a variety of programs tailored to the interests, abilities, and cognitive and physical capabilities of each Member. All Members have access to:

• Professional nursing

• Therapies

• Recreational activities

• Healthy meals

• Specialized personal care such as massages, manicures/pedicures, and hair services

Our Markham Club boasts a theatre, Member kitchen, golf putting green, and an easy-to-navigate layout with state-of-the-art security and safety features in the overnight accommodation suites and throughout the club.

Care We Provide at Our Markham Club

At our Markham Club, we offer personal care and supportive assistance in daily living activities. Our Team Members provide excellent care and attention in our Premium Day Program, Short-Term, and Long-Term accommodations.

Premium Day Program:

Designed with activities and programs tailored to the physical and cognitive abilities of our Members. We provide mental stimulation through fun initiatives such as fitness and socialization programs, pet therapy, music therapy, and art therapy, all failure-free and success-oriented.

Respite Care:

Aimed at giving primary care partners a break while focusing on the needs of individuals living with memory loss. Offered for varying lengths of time from hours to months.

Long-Term Stay:

Provided by knowledgeable and certified Team Members with 24/7 care and support. Includes participation in the Premium Day Program and personalized cognitive and physical fitness programs.

Short-Term Stay:

Involves the same world-class Premium Day Program and assistance as our long-term care. Often used by care partners for Respite Care or as a supervised stay during vacations or trips.

• Nutritionally rich meals and snacks prepared by Executive Chefs to support cognitive abilities

Staff Expertise

Our compassionate Team Members are highly qualified with experience and education in direct care for those living with memory loss. Our staff includes Recreation Therapists, Personal Support Workers, Social Workers, Nurses, and Gerontologists. We maintain a minimum Member to Team Member ratio of 5:1 to ensure proper care and support for every Member.

Accommodations and Suite Details

For short-term and long-term stays, our Markham suites are available as private studios or suites for couples. Each suite is fully furnished with modern amenities and designed with the needs of Members in mind. Safety and security features such as motion sensors, intercoms, and strategic lighting are installed throughout the suites and bathrooms.

Price

Our overnight accommodations begin at $330 per night. This includes a fully furnished private suite with a two-piece washroom, use of common spaces, three meals and two snacks daily, housekeeping, laundry, utilities, 24-hour nursing care, medication management, a basic care package, bathing assistance, and access to our Premium Day Program.

All of our Membership fees are HST exempt and tax deductible and may be covered by some critical care health spending accounts, long-term care insurance, and life insurance plans.
