Riverwood Senior Living is a great retirement community in Alliston, Ontario. Nestled amongst the trees on the banks of the Boyne River, Riverwood provides all of the features and services that create a retirement lifestyle of independence, security, convenience, and fun. Offering various suites and care options, this retirement home offers lifestyle options for Alzheimer's Care, Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Long-term Care. Riverwood Senior Living is privately owned and managed and has been serving the seniors community for over 30 years.

Support Services
From the Emergency generators and emergency response systems, Riverwood provides the ultimate security and peace of mind for residents and their families. Trained and caring Nurses, Personal Support Workers, Laundry, Housekeeping, dietary, recreational services, and daily physiotherapy services are provided at no additional cost. Hair salon services, as well as esthetician services and massage therapy, are offered at a nominal charge. Assistance with daily personal hygiene, dressing, and bathing is available. Post-Surgical & Post-Treatment care, Stroke Recovery care, and Rehabilitation services are offered. Medications are distributed by staff to reduce confusion, with a house pharmacy available for deliveries 7 days a week. A house doctor is available for most residents, and contact with doctors is maintained as needed. Blood sugar monitoring and insulin administration are provided. Weight and blood pressure monitoring are conducted, and doctors are notified if concerns arise. Requested blood work by doctors can be done weekly in-house by Life Labs. Residents requiring O2 are welcome, and physiotherapy is available for all residents twice a week at no charge if qualified through the L.H.I.N. Transfer services and wound care are available, and the community is open to hospital beds, versa frames, and most assistive devices. Health education seminars and in-house immunization and flu clinics are available.
Amenities
Riverwood Senior Living offers a variety of shared spaces and services including lounges for entertaining family and friends, a cozy fireplace for winter months, and a large outdoor area for meet and greets. Hair salon services, as well as esthetician services and massage therapy, are available. The residence features a personal care area designed to provide residents with a familiar structure and routine, and there are two call intercoms in every room for assistance. In-room meal service is also provided if required.
Activities
Residents can enjoy a diverse range of activities including daily exercise programs such as tai chi and aerobics, visits from children in the daycare within the building, and St. John's Therapy Dog visits. There are also bazaars, cards and board games, weekly bingo, baking groups, shopping trips, meal outings, live musical entertainment, outings to Georgian Downs and Gibson Centre, community drives, country drives, walking programs, a gardening club, Wii games, picnics in the park, church services, brain fitness programs, BBQs, and movies with popcorn.
Dining
Enjoy a variety of menu choices throughout the day in Riverwood's full-service dining room, where any special dietary needs can be accommodated. Family and friends are welcome to share the dining experience. Full dietary services include three homemade delicious, nutritious meals made from scratch in accordance with Canada's Food Guide, with two choices available per meal. Meals are served at the table in the dining room, with daily salad bar selections available. Coffee, tea, juices, and snacks including cookies and muffins are available at any time.
