Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Residence, founded by the Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in 1980, is a not-for-profit retirement community dedicated to providing a dignified quality of life for both Ukrainian and non-Ukrainian seniors. Our spacious, modern, and well-maintained complex is strategically situated with convenient access to amenities such as Highway 401, cycling paths, and public transportation, providing residents with a comfortable and interconnected lifestyle.

Assisted Living

Our Assisted Living facility offers comprehensive services included in a single service fee. We provide 41 fully furnished rooms with call buttons and shared or private two-piece bathrooms. Amenities include:

• Three daily meals and two snacks

• Assistance with medication management, dressing, bathing, and grooming

• 24-hour nursing and personal care

• On-call physician with weekly clinic visits

• Two-person Hoyer lifts and mobility support

• Specialty services like hairstyling and foot care (available at an extra fee)

Semi-Independent Living

Our Semi-Independent living option offers more autonomy with the following amenities:

• Senior Studios: Unfurnished apartments allowing residents to decorate to their preference

• Senior Suites: Two-room unfurnished apartments with a shared two-piece restroom and communal shower

• Three meals and two snacks daily

• Weekly or biweekly housekeeping services

• Medication distribution

• 24/7 emergency nursing assistance

• Access to all residence facilities and social/recreational activities

• Specialty services like hairstyling, storage locker, parking, tray service, additional personal laundry, and foot care (available at an extra fee)

Short Term Stay or Respite Care

We offer short-term stays and respite care for those recovering from hospital procedures or for seniors wanting to experience retirement living. These services include:

• Nutritious meals

• Social and recreational activities

• Support services similar to our Assisted Living Residents

• Minimum stay of two weeks and a maximum stay of 30 days

• Specialty services like hairstyling and foot care (available at an extra fee)

Amenities

Our facility includes 700 square meters of dedicated living space with:

• Spacious Grounds and Gardens: Six gardens, a covered patio, park benches, and parking for 80 vehicles.

• Dining Room: Renovated in 2016, offering tables for two or four residents. Our chef provides three hot wholesome meals daily and healthy snacks.

• Great Hall: A common area for socializing, TV or movie watching on an 85” TV, and monthly concerts.

• Multi-Purpose Room: Used for daytime snacks, special event meals, Bingo, large meetings, and available for rent.

• Lounge: Configured as a bar, ideal for small gatherings or watching sports on a 48” TV, also available for rent.

• Chapel of Sts. Cosmas and Damian: A beautiful chapel for personal reflection, prayer, and Ukrainian Catholic services twice a week.

• Card-Operated Laundry Services: Facilities available throughout the building, with dedicated laundry service for retirement home residents.

• Library: Holding many English, Ukrainian, and Chinese books for residents to read in comfort.

• Hair Salon: On-site hair care services.

• Foot Care Nurse: Weekly visits for retirement home residents, with home visits available for apartment tenants at their own cost.

• TTC: Bus service available immediately in front of the premises.

• Grocery Stores and Restaurants: Three restaurants and a Food Basics grocery store within 1.5 km.

• Mall: Scarborough Town Centre is a seven-minute TTC ride away.

Activities

At Saints Peter and Paul Retirement, our residents have the option to partake in various recreational, social, and fitness activities arranged by our Life Enrichment Team. Residents have the freedom to choose how they would like to spend their time, whether engaging in relaxation or participation.
