Palliative Care: We offer high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care with enhanced palliative care training for our interdisciplinary teams, supporting residents and their families through this difficult time.

At Extendicare Oshawa, we provide social and recreational services seven days a week, including holidays, designed to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual needs of our residents. Activities and programs include:

Accommodations

Residents can choose from private rooms or shared accommodations (semi-private and basic/standard). Extendicare Oshawa offers 175 beds in our community.

Private Accommodation: Offers added comfort and the convenience of private bathrooms, ideal for those who prefer regular family visits.

Semi-Private or Basic/Standard Accommodation: Shared rooms where residents are matched based on gender and similar interests.

Air Conditioning: Universal access to designated air-conditioned areas, with in-room air conditioning available during warmer months.

Living with Dignity and Respect

We assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, bathing, using the toilet, and eating, alongside comprehensive nursing, medical, therapeutic, and rehabilitative care.

Dietary Care

Our dining service provides tasty meals prepared on-site, with specialized diets for residents with unique dietary needs. Menus are developed with input from residents and families, offering a wide variety of nutritious choices at every meal.

Spiritual Services

We offer worship services for various religious denominations, including hymn sings, bible studies, prayer meetings, and memorial services. Psychosocial services are available to support residents and families dealing with conflict, loss, and bereavement.

Support Services

Daily housekeeping, laundry services, and professional maintenance staff ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment. Additional professional services available at an additional cost include:
