Long-Term Care at Extendicare Bay Ridges

Extendicare’s long-term care services are designed for individuals who can no longer be cared for at home or in assisted living. Our homes specialize in providing long-term care and a variety of innovative services and programs that support the physical and emotional needs of each resident over an extended period.

Dignity, Compassion, and Clinical Expertise

Every resident and their family deserve compassionate, high-quality care at every step of their journey in long-term care. Our teams work with families to tailor individualized care plans for their loved ones, ensuring dignity and peace of mind during challenging times. We provide enhanced palliative care training for our interdisciplinary teams in partnership with Pallium Canada, enabling us to deliver high-quality clinical, spiritual, and emotional palliative care.

To help our residents live better, we offer a wide range of social and recreational services seven days a week, including holidays. These services are designed to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual needs of our residents. Our qualified staff develop, organize, and lead both group and individualized activities to meet each resident’s unique needs and circumstances.

Accommodations

Types of Accommodation:

  • Private Rooms: Added comfort and privacy, including a private bathroom.

  • Semi-Private or Basic/Standard Rooms: Shared rooms with residents matched based on gender and similar interests or routines.

Our home offers 124 beds, and each resident’s accommodation fee is based on the type of room they choose. All rooms are air-conditioned and include universal access to designated cooling areas.

Living with Dignity and Respect

We assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, bathing, using the toilet, and eating. Our comprehensive nursing, medical, therapeutic, and rehabilitative care supports even the most clinically-complex individuals.

Daily Care Services and Options:

  • Dietary Care: Tasty meals delivered by a courteous team, with specialized diets and monitoring for unique dietary needs.

  • Spiritual Services: Worship services and inter-denominational programs.

  • Psychosocial Services: Help with conflict, loss, and bereavement.

  • Support Services: Daily housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance services.
